*Myofascial Release is a gentle, safe, and highly effective technique used for treating connective tissue restrictions that cause pain both acute and chronic, and the loss of mobility and function in your body. Myofascial Release (MFR) the John Barnes method, is a whole body approach which uses gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to release the pressure off these tight tissues to eliminate pain and restore motion. MFR restores the body’s soft tissues to a healthy fluid state. The “myofascial” or “fascial” system is a 3-D web of connective tissue that surrounds, infiltrates, and connects every tissue, organ, and cell of your body from head to toe and skin to spine. It’s function is to provide support and structure to the body as well as work as a bracing mechanism and shock absorber to protect the body from injuries. Everyone’s fascial system is as unique and individual as your fingerprints and no two injuries or strain patterns are the same.
About Kim Goodwin
Kim is a graduate of Grant MacEwan in Edmonton Alberta, where she attained her 2200 Massage Therapy Certification in 1997. Since she graduated in Alberta, she is not a “Registered Massage Therapist” in B.C. and therefore not all insurance companies here recognize receipts for her treatments.
